Jane Harris Obituary

Jane Elizabeth (Crispin) Harris passed away peacefully surrounded by family Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

She was born in Salem, New Jersey and was the daughter to the late Clarence Russell and Elsie Martha (Wright) Crispin and beloved wife to Ellsworth Benjamin Harris, Jr. whom she shared 68 years of marriage.

A 1955 graduate of Woodstown High School, Jane worked as a bookkeeper at Seabrook Industries and later for several years at the Elmer Post Office. She was also a devoted homemaker and spent many years driving for B.R. Williams Bus Service. She formed special bonds with the children she transported, especially Darryl Behnke, whom she drove all through his school days.

Jane’s greatest joy was her family. She loved cooking for her grandchildren, all of whom were especially fond of Mom Mom’s vegetable soup. She could often be found in the stands at the sporting events of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren cheering them on with pride. Jane also enjoyed traveling with Ellsworth to the Lancaster area, where they loved antiquing and discovering treasures at yard sales. Together they were longtime members of a pinochle club that met monthly for over 60 years. Her hobbies include baking and crocheting and she enjoyed fellowship and fun as a member of the Red Hat Society. A life-long member of Aldine United Methodist Church, Jane was active in the Faith and Fellowship class and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She and Ellsworth also volunteered with Ranch Hope assisting in the distribution of the RH Factor newspaper.

In addition to her husband, Jane is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Andy) Hoglen, Mary (Jim) Seagraves; and her son David (Kimberly) Harris; her grandchildren Drew (Julie) Hoglen, and Ashley (Marc) Weres; Krystal (Warren) Mabey, Kaitlin Deegan, and Jacob Seagraves; Alyssa Harris and David Austin Harris; great-grandchildren, Owen Weres and Bryson Weres; Avery Hoglen and Jase Hoglen; Emma Mabey and Fox Mabey; and Brett McFaul; her brother Alan (Faye) Crispin; and her sister-in-law, Donna Crispin; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, William Crispin.
