Doris (Dawson) Hutton

Doris Dawson Hutton, age 97, of Lower Alloway's Creek passed away Friday, February 27th 2026 at her home.  Born in Lower Alloway's Creek, she is the daughter of the late David and Emma Simpkins Dawson.

Before her retirement, Doris was the LAC school cafeteria manager for 42 years.  Doris was a member of the Canton Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and a Pioneer Girls Leader.  She was also a Girl Scout Brownie Leader who enjoyed cooking, sewing and vacationing at Fort Myers, Florida.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Dianna Hutton of LAC and Annette Gill (Earl) of Akron, PA; her grandchildren, David Gill and Karen Pennington; and her great grandchildren, Tobias, Tristan, Caleb, Oliver, William, Graham, Earthyn and Piper.  Doris is predeceased by her husband, Robert Hutton; her brother, Charles Dawson; and her sister, Frances Hanby. 

Services will be held 12:30 PM, Tuesday, March 3rd, at Canton Baptist Church, 700 Smick Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (located in Canton, LAC Township)  where family and friends may visit from 11:30 until 12:30 PM.  Burial will be in the church cemetery following the service.
