Brenda Evans

Brenda Evans, age 76, of Canton, NJ, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026.

She was born in Columbia, South Carolina, but settled in New Jersey in 1990, where she met her life partner, John Finlaw, who predeceased her. Before her retirement, Brenda worked in office administration for Mannington Mills, Inc. Her hobbies included bird watching and gardening, but her main passion in life was cooking for her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Evans (Stephen) of Middletown, DE; her son, Ted W. Evans, Jr. (Amy) of Elsmere, DE; her grandchildren, Eva (Matthew), Jake (Bailey), Ashley, and Rachel; and her great-grandchildren, Stevie and Maebren.

Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Woodside Funeral Home, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Township), where family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
